The aims of The School of Classical Russian Ballet

  • Respect the traditions and values of Russian Classical Ballet training and pass these on to the students
  • Provide access to and opportunity for ballet training at The School of Classical Russian Ballet without reference to social, ethnic or economic background
  • Select students for ballet training on the basis of ability and desire to train and learn
  • Encourage independence through excellence both artistically and academically
  • Offer the highest standards of ballet training together with the best academic education
  • Provide choice through an appreciation of the dedication and commitment needed to achieve that choice
  • Value the impact of performance and its power to  influence an audience
  • Provide students with exceptional performance practice during their ballet training to prepare them for life in the theatre and for them to appreciate completely the meaning and importance of daily class
  • Recognise the knowledge and artistry of the past and enjoy the modern creations of today and be creative
  • Continue to be an active participant and contributor to the local community
  • Encourage students to give back either by teaching young children in the local community, or by performing for young children in the local community or by volunteering for roles within the school
  • Consider the needs of each student as an individual and develop that individual’s talent throughout their ballet training and academic education

  • Develop curiosity and a profound appreciation of the art of ballet and the world of theatre.
