“I trained and studied on the scholarship programme of The School of Classical Russian Ballet. I am now the first person in my family to go to University…”
The School of Classical Russian Ballet in London welcomes everyone who applies to the school for ballet training as an individual with potential.
The School of Classical Russian Ballet encourages anyone with an interest in ballet training to apply to the school. Students come from throughout the UK, from the local community, and from different parts of the world. We help students from outside London to ensure that accommodation is available for them.
The school offers a serious three year full-time course of ballet training which is inspirational, challenging and rewarding. The course is taught by artistic staff from Russia who were leading soloists at the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Ballets. They offer an outstanding level of ballet training and the School of Classical Russian Ballet encourages any student with a love of ballet and a desire to learn to apply for an audition to meet with the artistic staff. The ethos of the school is to make access to full-time ballet training and academic education available without reference to either background or personal financial circumstances. The school has a Bursary programme, Opening Doors, to make ballet training accessible to those for whom it might otherwise remain just a dream. We do not believe that social or economic background should stop a talented young person from reaching their potential.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact the school directly either by telephone on 0207 498 0498 or via email on firstname.lastname@example.org. We are very happy to help with all questions in connection with the Bursary Programme or our Admissions and Auditions procedures. Entry for ballet training is by audition only and The School of Classical Russian Ballet accepts applications throughout the year on a rolling basis. A student based abroad may send a video application in the first instance, but a final place is dependent on an audition in person. Our main aim during an audition is to get to know the applicant, to see their potential and their passion for ballet. This is why our auditions look a little different to those at other ballet schools. We want to give applicants maximum insight into what a vocational Russian ballet class is and what ballet training at our school will mean, so all auditions take place in a ballet class taught by a senior member of the artistic staff. This is a wonderful way to experience a genuine Russian ballet lesson and to see how the students of the school work together with their teacher to develop their talents in this most exceptional and unique system of ballet. We also understand the value of applicants having an understanding of what a day in the life of a student at the school looks like. This is why we ensure that everyone applying to the school has the chance to meet and chat with the school’s students during the audition day and to meet the team of academic tutors.
